A Santa Casa de Jaú (SP) anunciou o fechamento da enfermaria de Covid-19 por falta de pacientes, após 580 dias de atendimento, na última sexta-feira (23).
O marco simbólico foi comemorado com a divulgação de um vídeo nas redes sociais do hospital em homenagem aos profissionais que atuaram na linha de frente desde o dia 21 de março de 2020, data da primeira internação por Covid-19 na Santa Casa.
No último boletim divulgado na sexta, constava apenas um paciente internado no setor de Covid e zero na enfermaria, situação bem diferente da vivida no início do ano, quando, sem leitos de UTI disponíveis para tratar a alta demanda de pacientes com a doença, a Santa Casa de Jaú emitiu um comunicado pedindo ajuda para diminuir a fila de espera no hospital e até citou um “colapso” na unidade.
À época, a Santa Casa informou que, devido à alta demanda de pacientes com Covid no pronto-socorro, a equipe teve que alocar doentes na sala de sutura, sala de observação geral, consultórios médicos e na sala de emergência.
