O governo de São Paulo realizará 233 mil testes sorológicos de covid-19 em grupos específicos da população até o dia 15 de julho. O anúncio foi feito nesta sexta-feira pelo presidente do Instituto Butantan, Dimas Covas, que coordena o sistema de testagens da rede pública no estado.
Esse tipo de teste identifica se os indivíduos já tiveram contato com o vírus e desenvolveram anticorpos, mesmo que não tenham desenvolvido os sintomas. Dimas Covas explicou que os primeiros testados foram os servidores da área de segurança pública, incluindo polícias Militar, Civil, Técnico-Científica e Guardas Municipais.
A nova etapa de testagem prevê a realização de exames em internos da Fundação Casa e detentos do sistema prisional. São Paulo também já iniciou projetos piloto para exames em populações vulneráveis, como idosos residentes em asilos, aldeias indígenas e comunidades carentes.
