Desde o início da pandemia do COVID-19 em Assis, a Prefeitura segue as recomendações em relação aos cuidados para combater a transmissão do vírus junto à população, inclusive aos servidores que trabalham paramentados em sepultamentos para casos suspeitos e confirmados da doença.
Atualmente são registrados 7 óbitos confirmados para a doença, cujos sepultamentos seguem os mesmos cuidados durante os enterros.
De acordo com o administrador do Cemitério Municipal da Saudade, Fabiano Cavalcante, para os óbitos confirmados ou suspeitos do novo Coronavírus não há nenhum lugar exclusivo para os sepultamentos, ou seja, são feitos na sepultura da própria família.
“Porém em casos de sepultamentos em jazigos, os mesmos não ocorrerão devido à exposição dos coveiros aos gases dentro dos jazigos. Nesse caso, a Prefeitura poderá disponibilizar uma sepultura social ou a família indicar alguma sepultura de outro familiar”, explicou Fabiano.
Segundo ele, a Prefeitura sempre disponibilizou sepultura social para as famílias que não têm condições financeiras de adquirir uma sepultura particular, ou quando a sepultura da família tiver um ente querido que foi sepultado recentemente no local.
