Neste ano não haverá o tradicional Desfile de Carnaval na cidade de Assis, mas, com apoio da Prefeitura, blocos fazem a folia em diferentes dias e praças. A Escola de Samba Unidos da Vila Operária desfila em algumas ruas do bairro, onde tem sua sede. O secretário municipal de Cultura, Emerson Gonçalves, fala dessas apresentações.
